A Day in the Life: My Media Timeline
8:00 AM (or earlier): The alarm goes off, or one of my dogs wake me up (more common), and after I walk my pups, the first thing I do is reach for my phone. I want to break this habit, because I know it’s not good to look at Tiktok first thing in the morning, but I like seeing something funny or creative as I start my day. I’m working on it!
9:00 AM: I head to work, and I usually listen to something on my way there. I typically alternate between the My Brother, My Brother and Me podcast and an audiobook – mostly thrillers. It depends on whether I’m in the mood for humor or the suspense of a good thriller as I commute to work and then as I work as well.
5:00 PM: After work, I eat dinner and then it’s time to get going on schoolwork. As a graphic design student, there's always something to create, revise, or learn. To help me focus and keep my mood and energy, I put on the Goldensdaphneandruby livestream on TikTok. Watching those adorable puppies play around is the perfect backdrop to keep my stress levels down while I study.
9:00 PM: Once I’ve gotten a good amount of schoolwork done, my brain reaches the fried point after work and then schoolwork all day. I go to my room and put on Bob’s Burgers, and it’s my favorite way to relax before bed. I set the sleep timer so it turns off just as I drift off to sleep, because I absolutely HATE when I’m sleeping and I wake up and the TV is still on.
10:00 PM: Lights out, ready to do it all again tomorrow.
